Pound is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Toomore, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a circular area thirty-nine point five metres across on a gentle northeast-facing slope. A later drystone wall stands on the inner edge of the original stone spread. Farm buildings now touch the perimeter, and the site functions as a farmyard after earlier use as a cattle pound.
On a terrace of a gentle NE-facing slope. Circular area (int. diam. 39.5m NE-SW) defined by a stone spread (Wth 2.2m; H 0.3-0.6m) with a later drystone wall (H 1.2m) on its inner edge N-SW. Farm buildings impinge on the perimeter SW-N. It was used as a cattle pound, and is now used as a farmyard. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
