What is recorded here

Five years ago, a man levelling the south side of a Galway ringfort broke through soil and found stone. The passage ran north toward the centre of the fort, narrow enough to feel made for one body at a time. He sealed it again, and the cave disappeared from the world except in the memory of the hole it had opened.

Within a ringfort (GA042-220----). Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1920) as a small dot in NE part of the interior. In the course of levelling S sector of the rath, c. five years ago, the owner discovered a stone-built 'cave' running N towards the centre from just inside the enclosing bank.
