What is recorded here

Moyne Castle stands in ruins at Moyne, County Mayo, a forgotten stone anchor in the western landscape. Its unclassified identity and buried history suggest it belonged to someone powerful enough to build but forgotten enough to vanish. The stones may still hold the shape of rooms where people argued, loved, or fled. What is missing is not a gap in knowledge but an invitation to imagine the life that disappeared inside the walls.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
