Four people lie supine with heads pointing northwest beneath the topsoil near Tobertynan House, waiting for the quarry to pass them by. They emerged only when machines stripped the ground in 2000, revealing a small burial circle hidden beside the woodland. The land now keeps a narrow buffer around them, denying the quarry its full claim and forcing progress to bend beneath dead hands.

Human remains came to light in stripping topsoil in advance of quarrying in 2000. They were encountered in a limited area (diam. c. 7m) 8m S of a boundary of woodland associated with Tobertynan House. Four inhumations, laid supine with the heads at NW were at the base of the topsoil. The burials are preserved in situ (SMR file) within a buffer zone (dims c. 30m E-W; c. 10m N-S) around them. A Neolithic or early Bronze Age burial pit group; significance lies in its association with early human activity in the Tobertynan area, though limited due to disturbance by quarrying.
