Tobereenalaffina is a lost holy well on the west side of a river in County Limerick, reduced to a two-inch hole in sloping rock where people once sought relief for sore eyes. Rounds still circled the tiny basin in the mid-1950s, but overgrowth has since swallowed the mark. The water may have done nothing beyond refreshing tired flesh, yet the well endured because belief gave it shape.

On W side of river. Well, described in 1955 (Ó Danachair 1955, 211) as 'a hole, about two inches in diameter and three inches deep in a sloping rock surface on the edge of a little stream', could not be located. Possibly obscured by overgrowth which abounds in this area. According to Ó Danachair (ibid.) rounds were still occasionally made in mid-1950, and the water reputed to cure sore eyes.
