Drummin Castle was a modest tower house in North Tipperary, held in 1641 by Lord Ikerrin and John Purcell for the proprietor of Ballyknockan. Ordnance Survey men measured its stump in the 1840s: thirteen and a half metres across, still rising to a first floor with a barrel vault and two narrow slit opes in the southern wall, built entirely without dressed stone. That much has since surrendered to grass and time, leaving only faint footings on a gentle rise above the upland fields.
