Grave Yard in County Cork, Ireland holds burials from the 1720s beside the vanished parish church of Templesque, whose ruins appeared on maps until the early 1900s. The earthen fence curves outward like a breath held too long, while a bullaun stone sits in the centre as if waiting to be struck or listened to. New graves still appear among the overgrown old ones, suggesting the place never stopped giving back what it takes.

Approached by laneway from S; roughly rectangular graveyard (c. 60m E-W; c. 50m N-S) enclosed by earthen fence which curves outwards on W side. Partially overgrown, but still occasionally used for burial; earliest inscribed headstones dated to 1780s, two chest tombs dated 1727 & 1818 (Coleman 1907-9i). Rectangular church (CO063-031002-), labelled 'in ruins', depicted in NW quadrant on 1842 OS 6-inch map, but marked 'site of' on 1904 OS 6-inch map; slight rise now marks site. This was ancient parish church of Templesque, in ruins by 1615 (Brady 1863, vol. 1, 351). Bullaun stone (CO063-109----) in centre of graveyard.
