What is recorded here

Gateway, built 1896; extant 1903, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of rendered piers on chamfered plinths having moss-covered shallow pyramidal capping supporting wrought iron double gates with rendered outer piers on chamfered plinths having shallow pyramidal capping. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Knock Haven.
A gateway forming part of a neat self-contained group alongside and adjacent gate lodge (see 15603166) with the resulting ensemble not only contributing positively to the group and setting values of the Knock Haven estate, but also clearly illustrating the continued development or "improvement" of the estate by Reverend Arthur Robinson Barton (1848-1900).

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
