Burial in Tawnamore is a burial in Tawnamore, County Sligo, Ireland. A middle-aged man lay on birch twigs 0.8m below a bog surface, his head pointing SSE and his body extended on its back. His well-preserved woollen clothing, including a hat, overcoat, jacket, breeches, socks, garters and shoes, suggested a mid-17th-century date and is now displayed in the National Museum of Ireland.

The body of a middle-aged man was found at a depth of 0.8m below the surface in a bog in Tawnamore townland. The body, which was extended on its back, with the head to the SSE, lay on on birch twigs. A full set of well preserved woollen clothing was recovered, including a hat, overcoat, jacket, breeches, pair of knitted woollen socks, pair of garters and a pair of shoes: these are on display in the National Museum of Ireland. The style of the clothing suggested a date of the mid-17th-century. The location of the site of the discovery was verified in 2013 (pers. comm. M.A. Timoney).
