What is recorded here
Tankardstown holds a small unenclosed graveyard where low earthworks still mark the south and west of the church. They are not grand, but they are present: shallow ridges, perhaps old trenches, perhaps buried beds, perhaps the remains of people who trusted the ground to remember them. The church stands beside them like a witness. What is missing is not emptiness; it is the part of the story that stopped being spoken.
Low earthworks in small unenclosed graveyard (CW009-014003-) to S and W of church (CW009-014001-).
