Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Strike Upper is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Strike Upper, County Tipperary, Ireland. The 24-metre circular area sits in level horse pasture and keeps a causewayed entrance, an external fosse, and an outer bank that still marks the southeast, south and west sides. Its inner bank has reduced to a scarp, but the preserved arcs and separate earthworks remain clear enough to trace across the field.
In level pasture, paddock for horses. Circular area (diam. 24m) defined by remains of levelled bank reduced to scarp (Wth 4.4m; H 1.3m) SE-W-N-NE and levelled NE-E-SE. Causewayed entrance (Wth 5m at SE). External fosse (Wth 7.05m; D 0.45m) SE-W-N-NE. Scarp and fosse best preserved SE-W-NW. Remains of outer bank (Wth 5.35m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 0.7m) SSE-S-WSW and trace of same WSW-N-NE. Breach in outer bank at W probably due to location of horse jump at edge of inner scarp above; second jump adjacent to S. Interior slopes downwards gently to E and is incorporated into rest of field as pasture.
