What is recorded here

Scarteen Lower holds one of three stones recorded by Bowman in 1934 on Mrs Hallinan's land, measuring 1ft 2in high and 3ft 3in by 2ft 5in. Its exact location has been lost, but the stone likely marked a boundary, a burial or a place where people gathered before roads and fields took shape. It still stands somewhere near Scarteen Lower, waiting to be found and remembered.
