What is recorded here
One chamber, one door, one living person. Anais led the woman inside and watched her leave changed. She snapped the chamber closed and denied entry to every other person. The woman still sees Rahena and serves her. Anais lives inside Caherbaun and can be overpowered only by a free person who understands the contract.
Caherbaun/Cathair Bhán: This site is marked on the OS maps as a circular enclosure and is referred to as an earthen fort in the OSNB (Drummod, 24). It has been levelled and was located on a S facing slope in rough mountain pasture.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 693. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
