Slab-lined burial in Mullamore

The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 30 May 2012 Three stone-lined long cists (see LH014-015001-, LH014-015002- and LH014-015003-) aligned E-W were discovered in 1932. One contained a single extended inhumation, the others only skulls. At least seven other cists (LH014-015004-) are reported to have been found at the site . (CLAJ 1933, 100)
