Coolnambrisklaun and Coolnacoppoge still hide an old village beneath a hill called Cnocan. Local belief places a whole settlement there, perhaps linked to a moated site on prominent ground, yet no house or lane has reappeared to prove it. The land may be swallowing a neighbourhood that once belonged to somebody.

According to O'Kelly (1969, 46), 'Cnocán is a hill here [in Coolnambrisklaun or Coolnacoppoge] locally believed to be the site of an old village'. This may be associated with the moated site (KK010-012----) on a prominent location within the townland. The precise location of this settlement is unknown.
