Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Roxborough, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the NE end of a small rise as a circular grass-covered platform roughly 37 metres across. A low scarp and slight rounded fosse define its edge, while a hedge lines part of the perimeter. No entrance is visible, and Rath RO040-006 stands about 90 metres to the SE.
At the NE end of a small rise. Circular grass-covered platform (diam. 37.2m N-S; 36.4m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 0.9-1.4m), with a hedge on the perimeter NNE-ESE, and a slight rounded fosse (Wth of top 4.3-5m; Wth of base 1.8-5.5m; D 0.05-0.1m) SW-NNE. There is no identifiable entrance. Rath (RO040-006----) is c. 90m to the SE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
