Three twelfth-century sandstone window fragments now mark graves in Roscomroe graveyard, their roll mouldings still sharp beneath soil and moss. One double-roll stone lies forty centimetres from the church nave wall, as if pulled half-back into the building it once decorated. The others scatter south, including a late medieval limestone chamfered jamb in the graveyard corner, suggesting layers of construction and reuse stretched across centuries. Whatever church they joined has vanished, but its edges keep watch among the dead.

Three sections of a sandstone romanesque window have been re-used as gravemarkers in Roscomroe graveyard. All three consist of a jambstone with a roll moulding of twelfth century date. One of these jambstones has a double roll moulding divided by a concave channel and is situated 40cm S of the inner face of the N wall of the nave of the church approx. 14m to the E of the W gable. Two other fragments are located to the S of the S wall of the church, one of which is situated off centre to the E and the other is located further W in the graveyard. A fourth jchamfered jambstone is of limestone and is late medieval in date and probably belonged to a late medieval doorway or window. This fragment is stiated in the SW corner of the graveyard. There are several smaller architectural fragments of both sandstone and limestone scattered throughout the S quadrant of the graveyard. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien. Date of upload: 23 May 2011
