Long Island

Long Island is a small islet in County Roscommon, Ireland, where fresh water and land hunger may have driven people to build, dive or pray. It is the kind of place that enters legend quickly because it denies itself: visible from a distance, unreachable without effort, and small enough to vanish from memory. The absence of a detailed record does not reduce it. It removes human ownership from the story and returns the island to water, tide and distance.
