What is recorded here

Five cupmarks, one with a single ring, sit on a horizontal ridge in County Donegal, waiting for rain to fill them or a finger to trace their edges. M. A. M. Van Hoek identified the mark in 1987, pulling a small carved place from the broader landscape. The stones give no warning, no name, no story except the shape itself. They remain a quiet invitation to imagine the hand that made them and the sky it watched.
Identified by M. A. M. Van Hoek in 1987 and described by him as 'Immediately SE of DON 11A (DG004-063) is another part of the ridge, forming the E end. It has five cupmarks, one with a single ring. The carved surface is horizontal (Fig. 5A) (Van Hoek and Van Hoek 1985, fig. 4)' (Van Hoek 1987, 28). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload/revision: : 30 May 2010
