What is recorded here

Two small cupmarks sit on a broad ridge in County Donegal, waiting for rain to fill them or a fingertip to trace their depth. They are not grand, yet they are the oldest measurable marks in the area, cutting through centuries of grass and forgetting. A person stood there once, struck the stone, and left a challenge for every later hand.
Described by Van Hoek as 'Another part of this ridge proved to be uncovered in 1988. This large sheet of outcrop rock, E of DON 16 (DG004-062) has two small cupmarks' (Van Hoek 1988, 46). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload/revision: : 30 May 2010
