Situated on flat bogland. Excavation revealed two distinct trackways (TN036-050061, TN036-050062) built on the same alignment but about 300 years separate in date. This first site consisted of a wooden track (L 15m; Wth 4m) orientated E-W and constructed with large longitudinal trunks interspersed with longitudinal roundwood and brushwood. A large oak trunk recovered from the track was dated to 460 BC +/- 9yrs. (Stevens 1999, Killoran 226-1, 69-71) The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.
