What is recorded here

The site (Wth 1.5m; D 0.22m) consists of seven pieces of predominantly light brushwood with beds of twigs and a possible peg in the drain face. The elements are closely spaced and laid two pieces deep. Woodworking is evidenced by metal-cut chisel points on a piece of brushwood and on the peg. The peg is located c 0.2m below the main site and has been damaged by milling. The site is situated in poorly humified Sphagnum peat. Additional material to the E (Wth 8.0m; D 0.4m) consists of two roundwoods, four pieces of brushwood, two plank fragments and a possible stake. The material is widely dispersed, forms no discernible structure and crosses a number of peat strata. Compiled by: Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College Dublin).
