What is recorded here

Two sandstone window fragments, thirty-three and seventeen centimetres tall, lay outside the Ratoath Roman Catholic church in 1988. They had probably been pulled from a demolished building or dropped during road works, then left to mark time with moss and rain. By 2015 they had vanished, taken for nothing or lost to the ordinary hunger of progress. What remains is a gap shaped like a windowsill, large enough for imagination but empty of proof.

Two fragments of sandstone window mouldings (H 0.33m; 0.17m) were outside the Roman Catholic church in 1988 (Bradley and King 1985, 126), but were not present in 2015. (SMR file) Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 9 December 2021
