What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Rathroe, County Roscommon, Ireland. The subcircular grass-covered area sits on a low east-west ridge and measures 38 metres east-west by 33 metres north-south. An overgrown earthen bank defines the eastern, southern and western edges, while a wider field bank and hedge with an inner drain occupy the northern edge. Modern entrances appear at the west-southwest and east-southeast, and a shallow outer fosse runs along the eastern and southern sides.

On a low E-W ridge. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 38m E-W; 33m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at SE: Wth 3.2m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.1m) E-S-W which is incorporated into a field bank and hedge (at N: Wth 6.2m; int. H 1.1m; ext. H 1.7m) with an inner drain elsewhere.
