Killwee hides inside County Mayo, marked only by low uninscribed stones and a boundary that has watched the field for centuries. Tradition claims the ground received unbaptised babies, keeping their names out of ordinary ledgers but their weight inside the soil. The children did not vanish; they became the quiet pressure beneath the grass, waiting for adults to remember what measurement and approval cannot capture.

In an enclosure (MA008-001001-). The enclosure is indicated as ‘Grave Yard’ on the 1838 OS 6-inch map, and as ‘Children’s Burial Ground’ on the 1922 edition. According to tradition, it was used as a burial ground for unbaptised babies, and was locally known as ‘Killwee’ (Aldridge 1969, 85).
