What is recorded here

Cave occupies the northwest quadrant of an ancient Cork ringfort, where a hidden stone chamber waits beneath a modest depression. A large slab lies seventy-five centimetres away, perhaps marking another entrance or simply belonging to the same forgotten work. People may have built the passage for storage, ritual or escape, yet the earth kept that purpose secret.

Marked as being in NW quadrant of ringfort (CO064-021001-). Upright stone and slab set in slight depression noted in this area; probing to a depth of 1m suggested underlying presence of stone-lined chamber. Large slab on surface 7.5m to ENE may also be connected with Man-made underground passage. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
