Rathfarra - Hachured

Rathfarra is a sub-circular earthen ringfort on a low pasture hill in County Limerick, its eastern entrance still clear while overgrowth swallows the western bank. Cattle graze the level interior today, unaware that the stone-and-earth wall once marked the edge of a lived world. The outer face has been quarried in places, taking chunks of history for practical use, yet the fosse and counterscarp remain shallow bruises in the ground. What was kept inside, who entered at dawn or fled at dusk, has thinned into suggestion. The shape endures; the story has become a rumour the land tells in grass and shadow.
