Moated site in Rathdrought

In pasture, on steep S-facing slope overlooking river. Rectangular area (24.7m E-W; 24.2m N-S) defined by low earthen bank (0.2m) with shallow (D 0.15m) external fosse. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
