What is recorded here

A rectangular stone of Old Red Sandstone conglomerate stands on an east-facing slope in Rathculliheen, its broken top reaching 1.2 metres at the eastern end. Aligned east-northeast to west-southwest across a north-south valley, it may have marked a boundary, a gathering place, or a warning to travellers long before written records. The red grain of its surface still catches low light, suggesting hands that shaped or carried it rather than nature alone.
