Fairy fort in Rathcor, County Longford: a 28m-level circle on an east-facing shelf, with a broad earth-and-stone bank at the southwest and a steep scarp elsewhere. The entry has vanished, and the shallow outer ditch has filled, but the ring still holds its shape on the slope. People may have lived there, or rams may have crowded there, or the fairies may have simply preferred the turn of the ground.

On a shelf of level ground on an E-facing slope. A raised circular area (diam. c. 28m) enclosed at SW by a bank of earth and stone (Wth 6-7m; H 0.8m) and elsewhere defined by a scarp (H 1.5-2.2m). A report in 1975 (SMR file) recorded a shallow external fosse from E-S-W, which has since been infilled. The original entrance is not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F.
