What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort on a Mayo ridge, its sandy bank still standing after centuries of rain and hoof traffic. The oval pasture faces outward over gentle terrain, inviting people to wonder whether they watched the land or were watched while they thought they owned it.

In pasture, located on top of a ridge, which provides extensive views over the surrounding gently undulating terrain. A stream/drain marks the townland boundary c. 100m to W. Slightly raised oval area (28.7m NE–SW; 24.2m NW–SE) defined by a sandy earthen bank (Wth 2.7m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.9m, at SW), reduced to a scarp at NE–SSE. The interior is level and grassy, except in the NE quadrant where there is a slight slope down from centre to E. A field fence, on a NNE−SSW axis, cuts through the rath roughly centrally. A farm track skirts the rath at SW−NE; it lies immediately outside the bank, clipping its external slope in parts. There is a small pit/area of disturbance immediately outside the bank at SSW.
