Clough Patrick is a large boulder in County Louth with natural grooves, marked on maps since 1835 and still listed as a holy stone today. The grooves may have guided hands in prayer or simply revealed the shape of water and time. Either way, the rock has stood witness to human longing and local memory for centuries.

Linked to St. Patrick, the holy well or site is traditionally associated with the saint's legendary travels and miracles in Ireland. The grooved boulder may represent an early Christian or prehistoric ritual feature, possibly connected to water worship or saintly pilgrimage practices.
