The high cross in Priorstate, dated 1736, was likely erected by a local Catholic family, possibly of Irish descent, during a period of religious perseverance in Ireland. It features a weathered Irish inscription and is significant as a rare surviving example of a 18th-century high cross in a rural graveyard setting.
