Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Situated on top of a low hill. Overgrown circular area (diam. 30m E-W; 29.8m N-S) defined by a flat-topped earthen bank (Wth of base 3-5m; Wth of top 2-2.5m; int. H 0.8-1m; ext. H 1.3-1.6m). The entrance (Wth 3m) at E has been widened and the perimeter is incorporated into field banks NW-NE. There is no visible fosse. A possible standing stone (WA002-027002-) is immediately outside the bank at NE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
