What is recorded here
Parkavonear holds a rectangular earthwork surrounding the broken remains of an Anglo-Norman masonry castle. The earth rises like a deliberate border around stone that has already surrendered half its shape to time. It is not a hidden place, yet it still feels like a room someone stopped decorating but never stopped occupying.
A rectangular earthwork in the centre of which stands the remains of 'Castle - Anglo-Norman masonry castle' (KE066-017001-).
