Burial in Osberstown

Burial

What is recorded here

Osberstown in County Kildare, Ireland. In 1935, four skeletons emerged from a sandpit, one accompanied by four potsherds as if marking a deliberate farewell rather than a careless loss. The men digging for sand probably never expected to unearth such quiet company, yet the bones stayed together beneath the ordinary earth.
In 1935, four skeletons were found in sandpit. One had four potsherds associated with it. (NMI) Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 10 June 2011
