The castle (WX003-038----) and manor house (WX003-004----) of Ballynowe, probably Newtown, together with two mills at Ballynowe and 600 acres in Inch parish were owned by Mathew Forde in 1641, according to the Civil Survey (1654-56) (Smington 1953, 11). This mill remains unlocated.
