Fairy fort in Moyle Beg, County Monaghan: a 30m earthen ring just south of a drumlin summit, with an outer fosse, external field bank and an east-south-east entrance and causeway. It is the kind of place people named for what they refused to explain: a fort bright enough to see, odd enough to keep distant. If it was human, it was also familiar, a neighbourhood marker written in soil and grass.

Located just S of the summit of a drumlin. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 30m N-S: 29.5m E-W) that slopes down to the S defined by an overgrown earthen bank with an outer fosse and an external field bank. There is an entrance (Wth of base 3.3m) and causeway (Wth of top 4m; H 0.6m) at ESE.
