House

Discovered during pre-development excavation at the site of the former Drogheda Grammar School in 1998 (Excavation Licence No. 98E0544). The remains of a medieval building (L 8.4m; Wth 6.8m) were sealed below 14th century garden soil. The floor was composed of mortar and there was a hearth in the NE corner. It stood immediately to W of a cobbled pathway (LH024-041071-). Found in association with a number of other medieval buildings (see also LH024-041068-, LH024-041072-, LH024-041075-, LH024-041076- and LH024-041077-), the remains of the Archbishops palace (LH024-041078-), two medieval corn-drying kins (LH024-041070- and LH024-041074-), and a lime kiln (LH024-041073-).
