What is recorded here

Seven hundred and twenty-six metres of dark water-cut passage stretch beneath the Galway border, housing lesser horseshoe bats that hang motionless in the breathing black. The cave belongs to nobody and everyone, a living chamber where human footsteps must stop before they damage the quiet life suspended above. What is protected is not stone but trust: the trust that darkness can remain unbroken when people leave it alone.

Within NW quadrant of ringfort (GA057-134----). Costello (1903, 9) refers to a 'much injured Man-made underground passage in the centre [of the ringfort]'. It has been filled in and is inaccessible.
