Church in ruins

In SE quadrant of an early ecclesiastical enclosure (GA043-085001-). A rectangular late medieval church (E-W; L 18.3m, Wth 6.2m) in good condition, apart from E end of N wall which is no longer extant. The original doorway, with a pointed arch, is situated about mid-point along S wall. There are two round-headed windows and one flat-headed single light in S wall and a round-headed window in W gable. There is also a window in E gable, now much obscured by ivy, which is described in OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1927, Vol. 1, 129-30) as 'a lancet'. Immediately to S of it is an aumbry. To W of the doorway, the grassed-over foundations of an internal dividing wall are visible. This and the six corbels at W end of N and S walls and on W gable, suggest the former presence of a loft at this end.
