What is recorded here

Indicated is a ghost field on the NE slopes of Knocknagullion, where curving stone walls still break through the blanket bog after centuries of burial. The network stretches six hundred metres across rough hill pasture, hiding hut sites, cooking pits and cairns beneath the moss. People may have herded animals or marked boundaries there before the bog swallowed the edges, yet the stones still protrude to remind the mountain it was once shaped by human hands.

In rough unevenly surfaced hill pasture, on blanket bog, on the NE-facing slopes of Knocknagullion. The remains of stone field walls (T 0.6m; H 0.5m) which extend throughout an irregular area (c. 600m NE-SW; c. 300m NW-SE). The walls protrude intermittently above the surface of the blanket bog which is of varying depth. The walls are mainly curvilinear. There is a standing stone pair (KE091-103----), an ogham stone (KE091-103001-), standing stones (KE091-103003-, KE091-114002-, KE091-114003-), two fulachtaí fia (KE091-114001-, KE091-114006-), two hut sites (KE091-114004-, KE091-114005-) and two cairns (KE091-114007-, KE091-114008-) within this network of relict field walls.
