What is recorded here
Within the centre of the interior of a cashel (GA113-196----). This Man-made underground passage came to light when the sod cover and scrub was being removed from the cashel in early 2007. A number of roof lintels had been removed and placed beside the Man-made underground passage passage and a section of the latter had been entirely removed. On re-inspection in August 2007, the passage had been back-filled and the roof lintels remained along side it. A further lintel and side-walling were visible below the sod cover, at the end of the back-filled section of the passage, indicating that some of the Man-made underground passage remained intact and continued on further.
