Man-made underground passage in Grange East (orrery and Kilmore By.)

In pasture. Discovered in 1963 and investigated by M.J. O'Kelly (UCC). According to McCarthy (1977, 255-6), comprised two stone-built chambers. Chamber 1: wedge-shaped (L 3m; Wth 0.8-1.3m; H 1.3m; long axis NE-SW); SW end narrower than NE; roofed with lintels (one collapsed); side walls corbelled; creepway at SW end to chamber 2. Creepway (L 0.3m; Wth 0.5m; H 0.7m) stone-lined and roofed with lintel. Chamber 2 inaccessible; chamber 1 remains accessible through collapsed roof.
