Man-made underground passage in Banteer — Report the wrong picture

Banteer holds two hidden passages near an old ringfort, one marked only by a clump of thistles where heavy machinery once broke the surface. The other waits sixty metres east, unseen and unproven. Together they suggest a buried road or refuge beside the fort, perhaps used when storms closed the fields or danger came from a distance.

In pasture, c. 70m SE of ringfort (CO031-061---). According to local information, ground collapsed here under weight of heavy machinery; clump of thistles indicates site. Second possible Man-made underground passage (CO031-06202-) c. 60m to E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
