Indicated is a hilltop enclosure on a high drumlin in County Cavan, marked as a fort on the 1836 survey and still traceable beneath levelled field boundaries. Several old roads converge there, suggesting the summit has long directed travel, gathering and memory. A church site lies within the oval, while Davies wondered whether the shape belongs to a Neolithic monument like Lyle's Hill. The place resists one clean date because it may have been a fort, a fairground, a sacred boundary and a living landmark at once.

Marked 'Fort' on OS 1836 ed. Large oval area on the summit of a high drumlin hill enclosed by field boundaries. The outline of the enclosing elements, which have been levelled from NNE-ENE and SSE-S-SSW, is still traceable. Davies (1948, 95) speculated that the site is 'almost certainly a neolithic monument of the type of Lyle's Hill and others in Ulster'. He noted that it is approached by several old roads, and was important as a fair ground in the sixteenth century.
