Don 37 and its displaced companion form a small chamber on the Donegal coast where human hands first shaped stone. The main rock face holds a dense cluster of cups and rings, while a smaller boulder nearby carries at least two more marks on its upper surface. That boulder is no longer in its original place, yet it still belongs to the same landscape and the same ancient conversation. Together they reveal that people did not merely pass this coast; they marked it, remembered it and returned it to the world as a place of meaning.

Described by Van Hoek as 'Only a few metres N of DON 37 (DG004-072001-) is a large boulder with at least two cupmarks on its upper surface. It seems that this boulder is not in situ' (Van Hoek 1987, 41). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload/revision: : 30 May 2010
