Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Lurgan (roscommon By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the summit of an east-west ridge and measures 36.5 metres east-west by 32.5 metres north-south. An earthen bank and hedge 4 to 4.5 metres wide surround most of the grass-covered area, while a shallow scarp completes the remaining edge. No visible fosse or original entrance remains.
On the summit of an E-W ridge. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 36.5m E-W; 32.5m N-S) defined by an earthen bank and hedge (Wth 4-4.5m; int. H 0.3-1m; max. ext. H 1.5-1.6m) NE-S-SE and SW-NW and a scarp (H 0.1-0.3m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
