What is recorded here

On 14 October 1918, U 90 torpedoed the TSS Dundalk, killing 21 of 32 people aboard, including Captain Hugh O’Neill and young Harold Grey of Swansea. The survivors drifted for seventeen hours before rescue, and Dundalk raised £6000 for the widows left behind. A century later the town still marks the sinking with a service, an exhibition, a memorial on Navvy Bank and a final prayer at the quays at 11.10pm, the moment the ship went down.
