Standing Stone (Site of)

Located in pasture on the summit of a N-S ridge of rock outcrop. Three conglomerate slabs form a row (L c. 14m) which is roughly aligned N-S. The N (L 4m; max. Wth 2m; T 0.4m) and central (L 4.4m; max. Wth 1.4m; T 0.3m) stones are now recumbent, but the S stone (dims 0.9m x 0.25m; H 0.85m) is still standing and aligned N-S. The stones have rough points, and the central one has a rough tenon at its base. If they were all upright, and they are thought locally to have been standing until c. 1910 (SMR file), the space between the N and central stones would be c. 2.6m, and between the central and S stone would be c. 8m.
